IKUKO® Original, Basic or Easy Posture: which bench should you choose?

All three models use the same core idea: raising the pelvis in kneeling to create a stable, comfortable seat. They share a similar shape, curved seat and local Quebec production. Their principal differences are portability, construction material, available heights and price.

Quick recommendation

·    Choose IKUKO® Original for solid birch construction, removable legs and an included cotton travel bag.

·    Choose IKUKO® Basic when the bench will stay at home and you prefer fixed legs with solid birch construction.

·    Choose Easy Posture for a portable model with a bag, made from laminated birch and priced below the Original.

The Basic retains the curved solid-birch seat but uses fixed legs and does not include a bag. It suits a permanent meditation space at home, in a studio or in a center.

·    Three heights available.

·    Lower starting price than the Original.

It can be moved by hand, but it is less convenient for luggage or frequent travel.

Easy Posture: portable laminated birch

Easy Posture also has removable legs and an included cotton bag. Its distinguishing feature is laminated birch rather than solid birch. Laminated wood uses bonded layers to create a stable curved form.

·    Removable legs and cotton bag.

·    Portable format.

·    Lower price than the Original.

·    Natural and dark-brown finishes.

·    Low and standard variants currently displayed.

The material should always be described clearly as laminated birch. Customers who require the high 20 cm model should consider the Original or Basic.

Solid birch or laminated birch?

Solid birch appears in the Original and Basic and may show natural variations in grain and colour. Laminated birch appears in Easy Posture and is made from bonded wood layers; the layers may be visible along the seat edge. Both are wood constructions, but laminated birch should not be described as solid wood.

Fixed or removable?

Choose fixed legs when the bench stays in one place and you do not need a bag. Choose removable legs when you attend retreats, meditate in different locations, travel with your equipment or need more compact storage.

Do the models feel the same?

All three use a similarly curved seat and the same general kneeling concept. In practice, correct height is likely to influence comfort more than whether the legs are removable. Select your height before choosing the construction.
